The biggest event of the year–Second Life Birthday–kicked off on June 18th to celebrate its 23rd year. 

Spanning a stunning 73 regions, the event will feature live music, performances, special events, exhibits, gifts, and shopping experiences, and more.

The founder of SL, Philip Rosedale, reflected on the preceding 23 years but also made and enticing announcement. 

This year, SL included a new feature– The Golden Ticket Giveaway. The grand prize includes a 1 million L$ bounty. Starting on June 22nd, prospective participants can click a Golden Ticket kiosk to earn a ‘live prize event.’ Selected participants will take the stage at SL23B and choose from one of 23 Golden Prize Boxes. While each box contains a Linden dollar reward, only one contains the grand prize of L$1 million.

Given the enormity of the event, which includes 600 live events, 480 creators and 232 exhibitions by 550 exhibitors, inKLine Media will make every effort to bring you comprehensive coverage of the event and provide a digestible source for all that’s happening with SL23B.

Throughout the week, members of the SL team will appear in Q+A sessions with the community. Each event starts at 1 pm SLT and takes place at the SL23B Orpheum Theater. The schedule is as follows: 

• Monday, June 22nd at 1pm PT – Founder of Second Life, Philip Rosedale (Philip Linden)
• Tuesday, June 23rd at 1pm PT – Product team
• Wednesday, June 24th at 1pm PT – Engineering team
• Thursday, June 25th at 1pm PT – Marketing and Growth team
• Friday, June 26th at 1pm PT – Second Life Studios team
