The Inov Card for Virtual Business

By Bill Kaye

At first, the business card can seem like such a novelty.  We agonize over the design, the font, the background color. ‘ Eggshell white?  Or off-white?  Then the business card grows into a necessity.

If you don’t believe me, try to remember that feeling of explaining to someone why you don’t have a card on you.  As you tear that piece of paper to write down your various contacts, a piece of your soul tears with it.  How many times can you use the excuse:  “I have to pick up a new batch at Kinkos,” while you scribble your e-mail, phone number, daytime number in a shameful sweat.  Then you open a busniess on SL and it grows more complex.  There’s group subscriptions, avatar names versus login names, LMs, notecards and–gasp–alts.

A handy little item, the InovCard, by Inov, allows for you to keep all those links, and clicks and “Touch Here’s.”on one wearable card.

The card, sold for 350L, functions as an attachment. You send it to a prosepective client. They double-click and access all of your pertinent information–pager, web-site, landmark, etc. Then they contact you, ready to give you their bags of Lindens. Okay, we can’t legally guarantee that part.

On the surface, the InovCard seems like a simple enough idea. Bu that’s the beauty of it. As far as business tools go, the InovCard is one of the most innovative I’ve found in a while.
