Heavenly Villa went searching for some marketing advice related to Second Life, as we’re all prone to need sometimes.  She searched on Marketplace since “trying to find any advice or help on marketing in sl was difficult or expensive.”

She discovered a product proclaiming to be a guide to SL marketing, so she invested the 1000L only to find out this guide was no more than a notecard.

Villa now co-owns the Home and Garden Market and recently received an Avi Choice Nomination. (She is also a Founding Member of the Centre for Business Development).  During her time since the notecard debacle, she has put together a Screen shot 2012-12-22 at 1.05.09 AM
much more comprehensive guide–a book, not a notecard–at a much more reasonable price–250L not 1000L.

She offered some tips for SLBR readers, despite her best intentions to dodge her media cohort before the holiday.  We thank her dearly.

1.  Don’t build things you think others will like – Build what interests you.  You will put much more time and effort into it and it will reflect in the quality of your work.  That goes for any business really.

2. Whatever you do: Start out small. Build up a customer base first before expanding.

3. Always provide good customer service.

You can find more in her marketing book which is available on Marketplace.

You can also find it in-world at her store, along with her finely crafted home goods.
