Bill’s Deadline Blog: Late Submission

Editor's Desk_001The writing process is a lot like taking a train.  If you fall off, it’s going to hurt–a lot–and you’re not going to be able to get back on board.  For me, when that happens, the only way to get back on track is to reach out in one desperate last attempt and grab a passing bar.  Surely this will wrench my shoulder from the socket, causing further intense pain, but it will get me to my destination.

What I’m trying to say is: it pains me that the blog has been so inactive lately.  Maybe I’m being a tad melodramatic, but so much has happened and continues to happen in SL that March 13th seems like an eternity ago.  Truth be told–and I hate to use this excuse–but things did pick up in real life and as you’ll read in my next Letter from the Editor in Issue 7 of SL Business Review, it directly stems from my activities in SL.  That should be a positive sign for anyone trying to use SL as a creative outlet.

I needed to focus on real life in order to reinforce what I was trying to do in SL, but inKLine Media has also taken on some exciting new projects, and plans to expand in multiple avenues of news and entertainment.  In that regard, I also had to make the tough decision of curbing some projects as you will soon read about.

While I’ve been writing and creating and producing, not much of it has appeared on the web-site.  In the meantime, Relay For Life has kicked into full gear, plans for SL10B were announced and the number of regions actually rose slightly one month (kudos to Daniel Voyager on that one)!

It’s time for me to get back to work.  So if you see me around the grid wearing a sling, you’ll know I’m doing okay.

-Bill
