Titan of Realty

Right before Christmas, Titanious, the CEO of Titan’s Landing Realty, purchased his first sim.  Now he owns 37.  For aspiring real estate Titans expecting to make a fortune by buying and selling virtual land, Titanious offered a glimpse back into the reality of realty.

“It’s even harder to build up a realty company now,” said Titanious, “ever since the Lindens put out the ‘$1000 USD waiver’ for all sims that weekend.”

Titanious was referring to a weekend in October 2011, when Linden Labs waived the $1000 USD setup fee for full regions.  The charge included only the VAT and tier fee.

“The market was flooded,” said Titanious. “Now all realtors had to drop their price and if you dont already have 20+ regions, you will pour money into this game like crazy.”

Titanious embarked on his venture with TLR believing that “in the long run it would be very profitable.”  With the market oversupplied, Titanious admits: “It’s been a struggle.”

As for the length of that “long run,” Titanious believes that “these prices will stay as they are for a long while.”

But for entrepreneurs who still wish to inherit the risk, on the hope that demand will spike, Titanious offers a sliver lining.

“The market in SL right now is the best time to buy because everything is low on prices to stay competitive,” said Titanious.  “I actually encourage more people to become business owners.”
