As one door closes another one opens. This runs true in almost all things that happen in life. An example of this statement would have to be the closing down of Mos Espa.

As sad as we were to see it leave, we now have something new to look forward to. That’s right everyone! Wanda Zapatero has returned with a brand new sim that has recently opened to the public.

SLBR reported last month that Mos Espa closed down due to Zapatero having RL financial difficulties as well as issues in world involving trolls. Little did she realize at first how many people would be affected by the sim closing.

Once the sim closed, many residents of the Star Wars Role-play community were left homeless. Looking upon the homelessness, Zapatero realized she needed to do something to help her friends.  She and co-owner Kotoo Nirvana purchased a homestead sim and called it Hoth.

At first, the sim was opened exclusively to friends and family by invitation only, but is now open to anyone who would like to come and explore.

Zapatero also invites everyone interested to join in a role-play on Hoth. as there are several small personal role-plays happening within the groups that have colonized the planet.

For those who are unfamiliar with Star Wars, Hoth is a desolate wasteland of ice and snow. Temperatures on Hoth often drop well below freezing and those caught outside without proper protective clothing may freeze to death within minutes. The freezing temperatures also make it nearly impossible to have any sort of vehicle on Hoth unless the it has been specially modified to withstand the frigid temperatures.

For those who are lucky enough not to freeze by taking shelter in the many caves, there are the native wampas to watch out for. These giant bear-like bipedal creatures can kill a humanoid with just the swipe of a massive paw.

Despite the hostile nature of the world, there are those who attempt to colonize Hoth for the wondrous archaeological opportunities that the planet possesses.  If you are looking for adventure and excitement, grab some warm clothing and visit Hoth as soon as you can! The sim has started strong and will hopefully have a long and prosperous future within the Star Wars Role-play community.
