Last night, I got to exercise some of the perks of my job as a writer by visiting the Virtual State Fair in Morrill.  Except, I wish I could’ve published this sooner because the Fair ends today on 9/16.

It seems unfair to force the readers to squeeze that much fun into one day, but I urge you to take a ride on the ferris wheel, roller coaster, bumper cars and other rides.  Grab some pop corn, a nice margarita and a hot dog. Make sure you check out the fantastic work by some of SL’s artists. If you move swiftly, you might be able to squeeze in a hot air balloon ride or some line dancing.

The Virtual State Fair is hosted by Cooperative eXtension, an organization devoted to cultivating teaching and learning techniques for Second Life.

“These regions function as marketing to the SL audience, teaching space for educators, and professional development about immersive learning for our staff,” Thynka Little, Virtual Worlds Coordinator for the National eXtension Initiative, told SLBR.

I will be writing more from my interview with Thynka Little and the work of Cooperative eXtension in a later post.  For now, enjoy yourself at the fair!
